Purpose: The purpose of this website is to provide both information and insight into the Christ-centered family of believers who are First Lutheran Church. We assemble together in a warm, loving, friendly environment to worship God, to pray with one another, to grow in the faith, to experience the love of Jesus, to learn and be equipped to share the grace of Jesus Christ in our every day lives, to serve one another at home, in the Church, in the community of Temple and around the world. There is something for everyone at First Lutheran Church. Our Mission Statement: We love and serve Christ in our community in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Our Mission: We minister to our own congregation to help each and every member grow in Christ in many different ways. Each member is encouraged to spend some time each day in prayer and devotion. Some of the tools provided by First Lutheran are found on our Devotions Page. One can also listen to Great Hymns of the Faith by clicking on the links found on our Music Page. In the same manner that Jesus told his disciples to go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, we are also challenged and encouraged to have the heart of Christ and to be mission-minded. The ELCA is made up of regional Synods, each Synod is composed of many different congregations. First Lutheran belongs to the North Texas North Louisiana Synod.
